Tyson Fury is aiming for an unprecedented level of focus in his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk on December 21. The pair previously faced off in an undisputed heavyweight title fight on May 18. Fury was defeated for the first time in his career after losing a close split decision.
Ahead of their rematch, ‘The Gypsy King’ stated that he has not spoken to his wife in three months as part of his plan to prepare for the Ukrainian. Fury’s admission took fans by surprise and they speculated that his decision to isolate from family members could backfire.
However, leading boxing promoter Eddie Hearn believes this could have the desired effect. The Matchroom Boxing chairman was recently interviewed by iFL TV ahead of Usyk vs. Fury 2, where he discussed the Brit’s comments about not being in touch with his wife.

“Everyone is different, and when you have that defeat, he might leave no stone unturned. He just says, ‘I’m going to put everything into this training camp.’ I feel like when you step into the ring, if you know that you’ve made enormous sacrifices and sometimes terrible sacrifices, do you think that gives you more strength in battle? I think the answer is yes.”

Tyson Fury recently appeared at the open training sessions ahead of his expected rematch against Oleksandr Usyk on December 21. With the former WBC champion having already shared an ice-cold preview of what fans can expect from his upcoming fight, he continued in the same vein. during his interview during the open training sessions.
Fury did not directly answer the interviewer’s questions, but instead shared his intentions for fight night:
“A lot of pain… Fracture and damage… A lot of pain… Pain, severe pain… A lot of damage.”
