Front Range Skier dies at Crash in Keystone Resort

A skier from the front died after he crashed into a lined light pole in Keystone Resort on Tuesday afternoon, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office said.

The man skiing the Haywood Trail at a high speed when he lost control, lost from the path and hit the light pole, said the Sheriff’s office in a press release.

Ski-patrouille started life-saving measures before he brought him to the Keystone Medical Center, where he was declared dead.

Technicians of the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, who also serve as deputy corusants, responded to the resort around 4 p.m.

Researchers have not found any evidence of cheat or intoxication. The man was wearing a helmet and was the only person involved in the crash.

The office of the Summit County Coroner will release the name, cause and way of death of the man.
