Governor of California Gavin Newsom just called Elon Muskaccusing him of exposing his own lies about a water shortage amid the LA wildfires – saying it all happened during his own live-streamed briefing with a member of the fire department.
Musk initially left on Xblaming the massive loss of homes in the LA wildfires on “poor governance at the state and local level that resulted in water shortages.” But Newsom shared a clip of Musk talking to a firefighter, captioning it: “@ElonMusk exposed by firefighters for his own lies.”
Newsom’s clip shows Musk asking a firefighter, “What about water availability, was water availability – I understand this wasn’t an issue in Malibu, is that correct?”
The firefighter explained that there was plenty of water, but fighting large fires requires enormous flow rates, so they brought in water trucks that could be used as mobile fire hydrants.
Musk pressed further… asking, “In Malibu along the coast there was no shortage of water – in the Palisades there was a shortage of water at one point. Or is that incorrect?”
The firefighter clarified, “Well, we were running an amount of water that the system couldn’t handle… it was overbearing just because of the amount of water these firefighters were using.”

After fending off the response to the wildfires, the world’s richest man visited L.A.’s Pacific Palisades on Sunday, where he rolled out donated Cybertrucks as energy hubs and battery banks amid the chaos, outfitted with Starlink to provide free internet.
We reached out to Elon Musk…no word back yet.
