Since third place was set up in third place in 2020, Lamelo Ball has emerged as one of the most exciting young guards in the NBA. In the midst of another All-Star season, the former player compared the Hornets Guard with a Hall of Famer.
After missing the majority of last season due to an injury, Ball puts his best campaign together in the pros. He is currently fourth in scoring at 29.6 points per match, while on average he has 5.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists.
In the middle of his great game, Lamelo Ball leads all Eastern Conference Backcourt players in All-Star voices. Gilbert Arenas defended the voters on his podcast and stated that Ball deserves so much recognition. He also stated that the Charlotte Hornets star gets so much attention because he attracts parallels with all Iverson.

After this daring view, former Minnesota Timberwolves guard Rashad McCants sounded on Arenas.
“All Iverson brought them to the play -offs,” said McCants. “Lamelo did not do what all Iverson did.”
To this day, Iverson is still seen as one of the most iconic guards in the NBA history. Although he was substandard, he came forward like a superstar for the Philadelphia 76ers. A former MVP, Iverson, led the 76 people famous after the NBA Finals in 2001.
As far as McCants are concerned, he spent four years in the competition after he was generally prepared by the Timberwolves 14th in 2005.
Lamelo Ball defeated Donovan Mitchell, Damian Lillard voting in All-Star
Still about a month away from All-Star Weekend, the voting of fans is still raging. In the latest results, Lamelo Ball beats a few Superstar-Kaliber players in voting.
The Hornets Guard remains in the first place for guards in the Eastern Conference with 1.9 million votes. A little behind him his Cleveland Cavaliers -star Donovan Mitchell (1.5 million) and Damian Lillard (1.2 million).
In terms of all players, Lamelo Ball is one of the 10 players with at least 1.9 million votes or more. Others in this group are Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Victor Wembanyama, Nikola Jokic and LeBron James.
If Ball can stay in first place, he has a good chance of being a starter in the All-Star game this year. Voting fans is good for 50%, with media and players delivering the other 50%. The voting will continue for another week, with the starters being officially announced in the NBA on January 23.
Ball is on pace to get an All-Star nod in his young career for the second time. He was last mentioned in 2022 in just his second year in the NBA.
