Arsenal came from behind to save a point in a 1-1 draw on Manchester United on Sunday, but that result may not be enough to keep their unlikely search to keep the Premier League title of this season alive. The Gunners were the more dominant side in the first half, but just before the break United surprised by taking the leadership with a goal directly from a free kick by Bruno Fernandes. Both parties exchanged shots back and forth in the second half until Declan Rice de Equalizer took from the edge of the penalty area in the 74th minute.

Here is a look at the biggest moments of the game:

Moment of the game

This game seemed destined to tilt at a certain moment in favor of Arsenal, but Fernandes disturbed that plan with a stellar goal. United earned a free kick from Goal and the Portuguese international took it, went straight for goal and became better from Gunners -goalkeeper David Raya. The goal also set up for a consistent second half when Arsenal was looking for – and then found – an equalizer.

Man of the game

Arsenal may have had to catch up in terms of the score, but there is a real thing to do that they were the better team on Sunday and that is largely thanks to Rice. The midfielder completed more than 90% of his passes while the Gunners dominated in the center of the park and were productive at both ends of the field. He generated a combined 0.42 expected goals and assists himself, scored the equal goal in fine shape and made a crucial tackle on Rasmus Hojlund in the 84th minute to ensure that the United Forward would not benefit from an otherwise perfect opportunity to score the Game winner.

What this result means for Manchester United

United is in 14th place with this result and bound, 17 points above the relegation zone, but 10 points from a UEFA Europa League location that they can be earned very unlikely. Perhaps even more important, however, this game is supplied with a kind of moral boost, because there are a few positive points to take away their performance against one of the upper sides of the competition.

What this result means for Arsenal

Arsenal remains in second place, but their goal to keep pace with Liverpool took another hit. The Gunners are currently 15 points behind the Reds, a gap that would be difficult to overcome with 10 more games that are still on the schedule.

What is the following?

Arsenal returns to play on Wednesday, opposite PSV in the second stage of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 hours (4 p.m. Paramount+). The Gunners have already beaten PSV 7-1 in the first stage, so that they can follow a more lax approach midweek for a large Premier League collision on Sunday against Chelsea.

United will now organize Real Sociedad on Thursday in the second stage of their UEFA Europa League round of 16 games (4 p.m., Paramount+) And I have plenty to play after a 1-1 first leg. They return to play in the Premier League on Sunday in relegation-threatened Leicester City.
