Marlon Wayans sent a hilarious message to would-be thieves, declaring he doesn’t “own shit” after his house was reportedly broken into last week.
The actor and comedian’s brother, Keenen Ivory Wayans, was woken but brushed off the noise after thieves broke into the Los Angeles-area home. Sources report this to TMZ. The thieves reportedly took a safe and “several thousand dollars in cash,” the outlet reported.
Marlon, in an Instagram video shared with the people who checked in on Thursday, before adding that the thieves “didn’t really take much.”
“The most valuable thing in my house is my house,” he said.
“So unless you put that shit on a truck and tow it away, then you’ve done fine, but I don’t own shit.”
The actor noted that he also doesn’t own any jewelry, pointing to a “fake” ring on his hand that he revealed was a heart rate monitor.
“I’m not flashy. No jewelry. No chains. I don’t have any cash. I use credit cards,” he said.
Marlon stated in a caption for the video that everyone is doing “fine” and that he is “grateful” after the episode.
“Sorry, I live a simple life with two cats and one of them is a 1994 Range Rover. If you steal it you need a jump start because the battery is dead,” he wrote.
“Robbers don’t waste your energy and your life with home invasions, the shit is too hard!!! Do you want to wear all that crap? Throw your back out, and for what?! I repeat that I have no value. I have no money or jewelry. Please choose a better one 🎯thanks and love you…still.”
