In a statement after the release on her website, Stewart revealed that her time at the minimum-security federal prison was “life-changing” and “life-affirming.”
She continued, “One day I hope to have the opportunity to talk more about everything that happened, the special people I met here and everything I learned.”
“Right now, as you can imagine, I am very happy to return to my more familiar life. My heart is filled with joy at the prospect of the warm embraces of my family, friends and colleagues. Certainly, there is there’s no place like home.”
In 2020 she said People she spent her time behind bars enjoying her old and new hobbies, including ceramics and crocheting. However, she also called the experience terrible.
Stewart explained, “It was horrific and no one, no one, should have to experience that kind of outrage, except murderers, and there are a few other categories, but no one should have to experience that. It’s a very, It’s very terrible. A lot of disturbing things happen in such confinement.”
