“If you’re going to produce a product, whether it’s jam or something else, you want to try to determine the demand as forensically as possible before you start producing anything,” Warren Johnson said. “It’s a lot easier to speed up your store listing if you go to the buyer at Whole Foods and say, ‘We have a million Instagram followers.’ You have an established audience.”
“It’s not a strategy I would disagree with, especially as it has allowed her to test her credibility and see if she can be laughed out of town as a jam maker before she risks a cent,” Johnson added. I’m not sure the world needs more jam, but maybe I’m wrong.”
