The Loveland police found a burn -worthy device that someone used to fire early on Friday morning at a Tesla dealer, the fifth case of arson and vandalism reported this year in the Noord -Colorado store.
Officers responded to the store on 1606 N. Lincoln Ave. Early on Friday morning and found a fire started by a device between two vehicles nearby Loveland Police Department said in a press release.
It also seemed that someone had damaged the building and various vehicles by throwing stones, police officers said.
Researchers do not believe that Friday’s arson is connected to a suspect in a previous case, Lucy Grace Nelson, 40, accused of throwing Molotov cocktails and spraying “Nazi cars” on the building.
Nelson was released from the federal detention on one Personal recognition bondAccording to the department. Loveland Police Chief Tim Doran criticized the move in a statement on Friday.
“This decision is not only worrying for our community, but reflects a broader problem that is confronted nationally,” said Doran. “It is incredibly challenging to protect our citizens against copycat behavior when there are no consequences for lawlessness.”
Similar cases of arson and vandalism have been reported in Tesla stores throughout the country, apparently in response to the new role of co-founder Elon Musk as a senior adviser to President Donald Trump and at the helm of the Ministry of Government Efficiency.
