Parents arrested after baby found in car seat on Pecos Street on Christmas Day

The parents of a one-month-old baby boy found in a car seat in the median of Pecos Street in Adams County on Christmas morning wearing only a diaper have been arrested.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jarvis Sims, 42, and Christina Thurman, 33, on Wednesday on suspicion of child abuse. They were described as the biological parents of the baby boy, who was found Wednesday morning in the 7400 block of Pecos Street.

No further information was immediately available on why the baby was left in the median.

The sheriff’s office posted a photo of the car seat on social media Wednesday and asked for the community’s help in identifying who it could be.

“Thank you to everyone who helped bring attention to this case,” the agency said posted Wednesday afternoon.

Denver’s KMGH-7 reported that the boy was taken to Children’s Hospital Colorado as a precaution.
