The California Department of Health and some grocery chains have reported which stores have sold Boar’s Head deli meat in connection with a deadly outbreak of Listeria infections.
The outbreak has sickened at least 57 people in 18 states. Nine people have died, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Boar’s Head has recalled more than 7 million pounds of processed meats in connection with the outbreak. A comprehensive list of retailers that sold the meat is not yet available from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, but some retail chains and the California Department of Health have compiled partial lists.
In California, which has the fifth-largest economy in the world, retailers include Albertson’s Pavilions, Sprouts, Safeway and Vons, in addition to numerous small chains and independent delis, according to a report by eFoodAlert.
The list of all stores in California can be found here. Elsewhere, consumers have to rely on supermarket recalls. Below is a list of supermarket chains that have posted notices on their websites. Other chains and individual stores have not yet issued recall notices.
