Pioneer Insurance recently launched a pet-friendly product called PetiCash Dog and cat insurance strengthens support for Filipino fur parents when it comes to pet care.
Pioneer Accident and Health — Head of Retail Jo-I A. Kapunan said Pioneer PetiCash Dog and Cat Insurance is the result of the company’s advocacy for animal welfare and responsible pet ownership, which is part of the company’s even larger campaign for inclusive insurance.
“When a simple moment of connection with your BFF (Best Fur Friend) turns into an emergency, fur parents can confidently rely on Pioneer’s PetiCash Dog and Cat Insurance” said Kapunan.
A recent Vero survey on pet ownership culture in the Philippines found that 83% of pet owners consider their pet(s) as their “child,” with 48% spending up to P5,000 monthly on their pet’s needs.
Given the rising trends in pet care, Lorenzo Chan, Jr., head of Pioneer Group, said Pioneer understands the financial implications of this building a sustainable lifestyle that supports both you and your fur baby’s overall well-being.

During the recent Pet Summit Philippines 2024, which attracted more than 17,000 pets, Pioneer joined the festivities by providing brief consultations on pet insurance. They also held a raffle where one lucky pet parent won a PetiCash plan that covers accidental injuries, covered illnesses and acute dental conditions.
Chan said Pioneer is proud to open its pet insurance coverage to all dog and cat breeds, including aspins, Puspinsand older pets, as long as they have the veterinarian-required vaccines and are no older than six (6) years old. “Once insured, their coverage can be extended until age 12,” Chan added.
With four (4) plans to choose from, PetiCash offers reimbursement to veterinarians for covered accidents and fur parents can also customize their plans by adding benefits such as cover for illnesses, acute dental conditions, accidental death or essential euthanasia, emergency veterinary treatment for international travel, petnap or pet owner liability.
