Pokémon hits the road in a yellow Pikachu bus with “Trainer Tour,” a new series interviewing and showcasing mega-fans from across the country.
The series will be available to stream worldwide on Prime Video and the Roku Channel on July 31. The first episode will also be available on the official Pokémon YouTube channel.
Pokémon content creators Meghan Camarena, aka Strawburry17, and Andrew Mahone, aka Tricky Gym, are hosting the show to “meet and mentor aspiring trainers who want to foster connections with family and friends through their love of the Pokémon Trading Card Game.” Over the course of eight episodes, the hosts travel far and wide in an exciting Pikachu-themed tour bus to meet Pokémon fans.
“’Pokémon: Trainer Tour’ is a unique entertainment series for The Pokémon Company International, spotlighting individuals from Pokémon’s incredibly diverse fan base. As the Trainers share their own unique life experiences in each episode, they all share their love for the Pokémon brand and Pokémon TCG. We hope this passion extends to our viewers and provides a glimpse into what it means to be part of the Pokémon community,” said Andy Gose, senior director of media production at The Pokémon Company International. “This series gives fans a glimpse into the varied experiences and heartfelt stories of some of the Trainers who make up the diverse group of Pokémon fans, and we’re so grateful to have had the opportunity to showcase how connections are fostered through the Pokémon TCG.”
While the Pokémon franchise is normally known for its animated TV series, films and video games, ‘Trainer Tour’ marks the first time it has ventured into reality and showcased the community in a project.
“We’re always looking for ways to engage your audience, things that our audience will relate to and to bring ‘Pokémon’ to the world and connect with our fans,” Gose said. Variety. “This is just one example, and we will continue that search. There are actually no restrictions.”
“Pokémon: Trainer Tour” was developed by The Pokémon Company International and produced with IPC.
