Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S series is perhaps the main competitor to Apple’s ubiquitous iPad.
Although the Tab S10 series wasn’t unveiled along with other devices during July’s Galaxy Unpacked, Samsung’s upcoming Android tablets are expected to debut soon.
Here’s everything we know so far about the Galaxy Tab S10, from its expected launch date to its specs.
When will the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 be released?
At the recent Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung unveiled several new products, including Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Watch 7, and Galaxy Watch Ultra. Unfortunately, the long-awaited Galaxy Tab S10 series was missing.
However, a Samsung South Africa representative confirmed to Android Authority that the Tab S10 series is in development and will be released before the end of the year, ahead of the expected launch of the Galaxy S25 series in January 2025.
According to leaker Ross Young on X (formerly Twitter), production will begin in August, ahead of an expected October launch:
While we still don’t know the exact release date, earlier models can give us an idea. This is when they first entered the world stage:
As you can see, the new tablets are arriving in August for the most part. The Tab S8 series deviated from this pattern, but it appears a return to the late summer schedule is planned for 2024.
If you were interested in the FE or Lite versions, they usually come out a little later than the main models. Here’s how they lined up recently:
The range seems a bit more haphazard than the standard models, with Samsung skipping the Tab S8 series entirely and releasing the Tab S7 FE a year after the Tab S7’s launch. At this point we don’t know if we’ll see an FE model in 2024, but so far it doesn’t seem that likely.

How much will the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 cost?
With the tablet market becoming even more competitive in recent years thanks to releases from the likes of Xiaomi and Huawei, it would be wise for Samsung to keep prices low to stave off these rivals. With that in mind, we think you might see similar costs to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 range.

What features will the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 have?
Since Samsung hasn’t confirmed any details about the upcoming tablets yet, we have no official word on what to expect from the Galaxy Tab S10 range.
There have also been few rumors, so the new devices remain a mystery. However, we can look at the previous models to figure out what we think Samsung has in store for the next generation of tablets.
Not a regular model
While there have indeed been quite a few rumors about the Galaxy Tab S10 series so far, one of the latest ones is quite big if it turns out to be true.
According to the report on the Korean site Naver (via GSMArena), Samsung could skip the regular Galaxy Tab S10 and only introduce the Plus and Ultra models. This shift could likely happen due to the introduction of the cheaper Galaxy Tab S9 FE and lower sales of the standard Galaxy Tab S9 last year.
In a response regarding production starting in August, Ross Young also suggested there might not be a regular model:
Design and display
Samsung can’t really do much in the way of design changes when it comes to the S10 range.
Function seems to trump form when it comes to these types of devices, and the company has already added S-Pen charging all around the back on the Tab S9 models, plus an IP68 waterproof rating across the range.
In our Galaxy Tab S9 review we did point out that the edges could be smoother to allow for a more comfortable grip, so that could be something we see with the Tab S10. Otherwise, don’t expect too much in the aesthetics department.

We recently took a closer look at what the Tab S10 Ultra could look like and it seems to confirm what we wrote above.
According to renders from Android Headlines, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is very similar in design and dimensions to the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, measuring approximately 326.4 x 208.6 x 5.45mm, almost identical to its predecessor.
The tablet may retain its ultra-thin profile, quad speakers, power and volume buttons on the right side, and magnetic S-Pen charger on the back. It could also continue to have a 14.6-inch screen, dual front and rear cameras, and a display notch.
Additionally, GSMArena reports that “the Galaxy Tab S10+ will have a 12.4-inch display, while the Ultra will go a step further with a 14.9-inch display. The two will have very similar designs.”
Specifications and performance
The current S9 Samsung tablets are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, just like the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra phones.
But with the new Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra all moving to the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform (with the Ultra getting the overclocked ‘for Galaxy’ variant), this should indicate that the Tab S10 devices also get the upgrade.
However, according to the latest Geekbench running for Tab S10+ (via GSMArena) and Tab S10 Ultra (also via GSMArena), the entire Tab S10 series will include two models powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+ chipset, which is a departure from traditional usage of Snapdragon chips.

The 8-core CPU is said to include four Cortex-X4 cores (one at 3.4 GHz and three at 2.85 GHz) and four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.0 GHz. The GPU is an Immortalis-G720, although performance has not been tested in Geekbench. In terms of connectivity, the tablets will feature Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and optional 5G connectivity that supports both sub-6GHz and mmWave.
The standard models may come with 12GB of RAM, similar to the Tab S9 series. There will also likely be a 16GB RAM variant available in select regions, possibly paired with 1TB of storage.
The Dimensity 9300+ is expected to outperform the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chip. Samsung’s move to the Dimensity 9300+ could deliver a performance boost and cost savings compared to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips, potentially making the tablets more competitive in both performance and price.
Cameras
The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is expected to retain its top camera capabilities, with a dual rear camera setup similar to the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, which includes a 13Mp wide-angle lens and 8Mp ultra-wide lens. For the front, dual 12Mp cameras could be a case.

The Galaxy Tab S10+ will also likely inherit its predecessor’s camera system with a dual 13MP wide and 8MP ultra-wide camera on the back, along with a single 12MP camera on the front.
Given the importance of AI in the Galaxy S24 series cameras, it is likely that Samsung will also integrate AI improvements into the Galaxy Tab S10 series.
Charge battery
If Samsung maintains the design of its upcoming tablets, we can expect similar batteries to the Galaxy Tab S9 series. With a more powerful chip, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and S10+ should offer improved battery life.
For charging, they will likely continue with 45W support, but we hope Samsung introduces even faster charging for the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra.
Software
The Galaxy Tab S10 series is likely to debut with One UI 6, based on Android 14. Galaxy AI is also very likely.
