When “Severance” returns for Season 2 on January 17, the mysteries and cliffhangers are sure to leave fans with a lot of burning questions. Enter “The Severance Podcast With Ben Stiller and Adam Scott,” a companion podcast to the sci-fi series that will offer analysis and weekly insights from the show’s star and director.
The podcast will launch on January 7 with two episodes focusing on Season 1 of ‘Severance’. The next episodes of Season 1 will be released daily on weekdays through January 16, before the podcast begins covering Season 2 when it premieres on Apple TV+ on January 17. New episodes will be released weekly on Fridays throughout Season 2 of “Severance.”
Guests on the podcast include “Severance” creator Dan Erickson; executive producer Jackie Cohn; and stars Zach Cherry (Dylan), John Turturro (Irving) and Britt Lower (Helly). Famous superfans of the show, such as Jon Stewart, will also perform.
Stiller executive produces and directs “Severance,” in which Scott plays Mark Scout, an employee at a shady corporation that forces its employees to undergo a procedure that separates their home and work lives. In the first season of the workplace thriller, the employees begin to uncover the office’s disturbing secrets and discover the truth about their jobs – and themselves.
“With this show we have separated ourselves from the world for five years. Although we have no memory of what happened during that time, we thought we should create a podcast for all the Innies who don’t remember watching it, in an attempt to re-integrate them with their memory of the show, Stiller and Scott said in a joint statement. “We’re glad we’re not working with Lumon Industries on this podcast, but instead bringing it to the world with Audacy Podcasts, which would never send us to the break room.”
The podcast is produced by Audacy’s Pineapple Street Studios – the banner behind the official companion podcasts to ‘Succession’, ‘The Last of Us’, ‘Chernobyl’, ‘Hacks’, ‘House of the Dragon’, ‘Foundation’ and ‘The Rings of Power” — in collaboration with Stiller’s Red Hour and Scott’s Great Scott.
“We are big fans of ‘Severance’ and what Ben and Adam have created with this completely original and thought-provoking series, and we couldn’t be more excited to be working with them to go behind the scenes into the world of Lumon ” says Jenna Weiss-Berman, EVP of Audacy Podcasts. “’The Severance Podcast’ is a rich addition to the Audacy Podcasts roster, offering great content for listeners and exciting opportunities for customers.”
