Shane Gillis' 'Tires' Season 2 Casts Thomas Haden Church

Thomas Haden Church has joined the second season of Shane Gillis’ comedy series ‘Tires’ on Netflix.

The show was renewed for season 2 in May, ahead of the first season’s Netflix debut. Gillis self-financed the six-episode first season of “Tires,” with Netflix acquiring the show as part of a deal that saw him get another stand-up special with the streamer. That special is also expected to debut in 2025.

Church will star in the show alongside Steven Gerben, Gillis, Chris O’Connor, Kilah Fox and Stavros Halkias. The official logline for season 2 reads: “After the unexpected success of their big marketing idea, Will (Gerben) and Shane (Gillis) rush to grow personally and professionally without fully realizing the costs of doing business.”

Church will star in the show as Phil, described as “Shane’s wealthy but immature father. Phil, an adult version of Shane, enjoys owning several businesses in Florida, where he lives, throwing back margaritas and flirting with waitresses.

Church’s recent TV credits include the series ‘Twisted Metal’ at Peacock and ‘Divorce’ at HBO, while he found early success in his career with his role on the show ‘Wings’. He received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role in “Sideways” and is known for his roles in other films such as “The Peanut Butter Falcon,” “Max,” “Spider-Man 3” and “Easy A.”

He is represented by CAA, FINLEY Management and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

Season 2 of ‘Tires’ is scheduled to debut in 2025. Gillis co-created the series with Gerben and John McKeever. All three serve as executive producers, with McKeever also directing. Brandon James produces via Rough House with Brian Stern and Kenneth Slotnick for AGI Entertainment Media & Management and Becky Astphan. Gillis and McKeever are executive producers for Dad Sick Productions
