Sheryl Lee Ralph feels extremely grateful after surviving Hurricane Beryl’s passage across Jamaica.
The ‘Abbott Elementary’ star previously expressed her concerns about the Category 4 storm … while in Jamaica caring for her son, Etienne Maurice‘s marriage to ABC News journalist Stephanie Wash.

But as Sheryl told her followers on Thursday, her Kingston home was left unscathed by the storm… and so were her loved ones.
She said… ‘We have no light. There is no power. But we have life… We’ve been scrubbed by Beryl’s eye, but she’s on her way somewhere else.”
In the caption, Sheryl described Beryl as “a Jamaican track star headed to another race” and thanked her fans for their love and support.
Although Sheryl said she felt grateful after the events of Hurricane Beryl, she called on her followers to keep Carriacou in mind as the island in Grenada was previously hit by the 150mph winds. Beryl reportedly caused 22 fatalities, after which the storm’s track focused on Mexico and Texas.

Still, Sheryl was feeling optimistic ahead of her son’s wedding… watch the video, where the Emmy winner even broke out Bob Marley‘s hit, “One Love,” at one point.
It looks like Etienne and Stephanie’s wedding is still off. Congratulations to the bridal couple!!!
