MLB fans who want to own Shohei Ohtani‘s historic 50/50 home run ball may have to break a few more piggy banks than they originally expected… because Ken Goldin just revealed TMZ Sports he wouldn’t be surprised if the baseball sells for more than $10 MILLION later this week.
Currently the memento — that Ohtani during a unprecedented performance against the Marlins on September 19 – it’s a few million away from reaching eight figures … but Goldin says it’s entirely possible the plateau will be reached by the time the final hammer falls in Tuesday night’s bidding.

According to the auction expert, whose auction house actually is supervising sales — most of the bidding tends to come in the final hours… and since the price is already over $2 million, this could certainly jeopardize the $10 million threshold.
Goldin added that Ohtani’s international star power – as well as the game he had when he recorded the magic number – could also lead to its sales exploding this week.
“I wouldn’t be surprised,” Goldin said, “if a foreign bidder took this to eight figures and it was over $10 million.”
Of course, buyers almost didn’t even get a chance to drop the coin on the baseball this month – after a lawsuit tried to stop the proceedings. But after Goldin reached an agreement with prosecutors in the case to move forward, it’s free game for all… including Ohtani himself.
Goldin says the Dodgers superstar can bid on it just like anyone else, though he did say he and his company haven’t heard from Ohtani or his team about a potential bid for it.
Either way, bidding ends at 7:00 PM… although this could be hours, if not days, after that deadline… because the auction allows bids to continue as long as they are before a 30-minute Interval Deadline.
