NBCuniversal is getting ready for action. The company has released the first trailer for the ‘suits’ spin-off ‘Suits: La’, led by Stephen Amell as Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who has reinvented himself and represents powerful customers in Los Angeles . The new series will premiere on February 23 on NBC.
The official description of the pilot reads: “His company is at a crisis point and to survive he must embrace a role that he has made his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a great group of characters who test their loyalty to both TED and each other, while they cannot resist combining their personal and professional life. All this takes place while events from years ago slowly unravel and Ted led to leave everything and everyone from who he loved.
Other cast members include Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis, Troy Winbush, Victoria Justice and original Ster Gabriel Power as Harvey Spencer.
‘Suits’ maker Aaron Korsh acts as a writer and executive producer alongside David Bartis and Dog Liman for Hypnotic, and Gene Klein. Victoria Mahoney directs the pilot and is an executive producer. UCP, which produced the original series, acts as a studio.
Beatrice Springborn, president of Universal International Studios and UCP, previously confirmed that the show is going on in the same universe as the original.
The original ‘Suits’ series ran nine seasons on USA Network from 2011 to 2019, but became popular again after the first eight seasons were added to Netflix last year. The series was at the top of the Netflix hit lists for weeks after it started to stream on the platform and surpassed 45 billion minutes on Netflix and Peacock.
