WASHINGTON – Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Make American Healthy Again movement requires many things: avoiding chronic diseases, making our food healthier, eliminating environmental risks, and eradicating corporate influence. Insurance is not one of them.
RFK Jr. is Trump’s pick for the nation’s top health care role, where he heads the Department of Health and Human Services. His movement’s goal of keeping people healthy may seem at odds with expected Republican policies that would result in higher uninsured rates.
In contrast, some Republicans say that higher health insurance rates have not made people healthier, and that people would need insurance less often if they adopted healthier lifestyles.
