One person was killed Sunday afternoon after a motorcycle crashed into a sedan near Aurora’s Fitzsimons neighborhood, the third fatal motorcycle crash in the Denver metro since Friday evening.
Officers responded to the crash after a motorcycle traveling north on North Peoria Street struck a sedan turning left from northbound North Peoria Street onto westbound East 23rd Avenue, according to police. Aurora Police Station.
The motorcyclist, a man, was pronounced dead at hospital. The speed of the motorcycle is believed to be a factor in the crash, Aurora police said in a news release.
The man will be identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
According to Aurora police, a woman driving a motorcycle on Aurora’s Smoky Hill Road was killed Friday around 8:30 p.m. after she lost control and struck a guardrail. Speed was also considered a factor in that accident.
Less than eight hours later, one person died early Saturday morning following a crash between a motorcycle and a car in Denver’s Union Station neighborhood.
