Nascar Truck Series -Team Hendrick Motorsports had a blunt reaction to the fine of Chase Briscoe was destroyed. The answer came after an update on Briscoe’s decision was posted on social media.
HMS responded to the news with a single word. The tweet was a reaction to motorsport journalist Jeff Gluck who shared that Chase Briscoe had won his appeal and had completely destroyed his penalty. Hendrick Motorsports wrote:
“Bruh.”
According to Gluck, the panel destroyed the fine because no adjustment of a single source part was found on the car. Reporting the news that he wrote:
“Chase briscoe wins its appeal, the fine has been completely destroyed. Appeal by appeal: The panel is of the opinion that the extension of some gaps on the number 19 cup car spoiler base is caused by the process of confirming that specific spoiler gesture on the rear deck and not adjusting the single source part. “
To give context to the incident, Chase Briscoe was punished after the Daytona 500 when Nascar discovered that the spoiler gesture of his no. 19 YOE Gibbs Racing Toyota violated the rules. NASCAR gave a fine at L2 levels, which included a 100-point deduction for briscooe, a fine of 10 play-off-point, a fine of $ 100,000 for Joe Gibbs Racing and a suspension with four races for the head of James Small.
The National Motorsports Appeals Panel, however, ruled that the issue with the spoiler gesture was due to the attachment process instead of a deliberate change. As a result, all penalties were withdrawn. Joe Gibbs Racing Team -owner Joe Gibbs expressed his gratitude and said (via Nascar.com):
“We appreciate the process that Nascar has given us the opportunity to present our explanation about what led to the fine that was issued to our No. 19 team. We are grateful for the consideration and pronunciation by the National Motorsports Appeals Panel. It is clearly great news for our 19 -team and everyone at Joe Gibbs Racing. We look forward to concentrating on the rest of our season from this weekend in Phoenix. ”
With the reversal, Chase Briscoe, who was at the end of the rankings, is now back in the fight and moves to the 15th with 72 points. The decision also restores the lost owner points of Joe Gibbs Racing, which may be important in the long term.
