Once they incorporated Trump into their storylines, Parker and Stone only used his name in a few episodes. They chose to portray his unmistakable personality through an existing character, Mr. Garrison. The duo told The everyday beast in 2015, this was done to prevent the attention seeker from getting the “satisfaction” of seeing themselves on TV.
But taking a step back from Trump doesn’t mean the makers are slowing down, even after 27 seasons. For The one from South Park returning next year, Parker and Stone plan to provide more of their signature social commentary, focusing on topics they’re passionate about.
Stone explained, “It’s just a lot more fun to say, Oh, Cartman is going to dress up as a robot.”
