With the arrival of March, the time has come to start planning spring skiing travel. Good conditions can be in the disposal, thanks to the normal and above normal snowfall in a large part of the state.
From 3 March, half of the ski resorts of the state will have an average or above -average base depth. They are Arapahoe Basin, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Cooper, Copper Mountain, Echo, Eldora, Granby, Keystone, Loveland, Monarch, Steamboat and Winter Park. VAIL is 95% of the normal and crest Butte 92%.
The Aspen areas are 74-82% of the normal, while ski areas in southern colorado hurt. Wolf Creek is 48%, purgatory 47%.
However, March can be a very snowy month, so it would be wise to follow storm systems.
Here is a list of projected closing data, confirmed by contact with each resort for the last schedule. All can be changed depending on the weather. Some can go beyond these dates; Others can close earlier than planned. The Denver message will update this list while announcements are made.
