Juxtaposition was the name of the game in Nanushka this season: past meeting future, male encounter female, organic encounters structured. While Sandra Sándor is celebrating the 20 -year anniversary of the brand this year, she regards the autumn 2025 offer as a meditation about the evolution of her “refined Bohemian” customer, where she her own transition from the young designer to mother and fashion -Industry -veteran reflects.
Sándor chose to visit some of her favorite Nanushka looks from the past for inspiration and to take a special interest in the pilgrim collar. ‘We started [with] An intuitive drapering session and we have placed this collar on the different parts of the body, “she explained. After her intuition, part of the highest payout in the collection yielded: When Sándor places the collar on the waistband of a column skirt, it folds over the hips as a flowering flower (which seems suitable for a collection called Grow).
Although much of the perspective of Sándor is influenced by motherhood, she did not give in to excessive female pieces, causing a nice balance between male and feminine. The strong shouldered pieces (namely the chalk stripe suit with the cinched waist) turned out to be much more interesting than some of her the rigueur dresses.
This season, Sándor challenged himself not to be too heavy on Nanushka’s trademark theory, Okobor, only use in a sage green jacket. “We didn’t want to give it a huge presence in the collection, but we still wanted it to be there,” said Sándor. The decision enabled her to show off her reach (although it would have been nice to see more color throughout the collection). As Sándor is considering from Nanushka for the next 20 years, she will hopefully bring more of that feeling of risks.
