Fire crews reached 25% containment of the Pearl Fire burning west of Fort Collins on Thursday as Larimer County officials lifted more mandatory and voluntary evacuations.
The man-made fire is burning on 300 acres near Crystal Lakes and started on private property Monday. Larimer County officials are still investigating what caused the fire.
Nearly 300 firefighters worked on the fire Thursday, increasing containment along the southern edge of the fire and establishing containment lines along the northern and western edges. U.S. Forest Service officials said in a post on Facebook.
The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday lifted all voluntary evacuations and some mandatory evacuation orders for neighborhoods near the fire.
People living in Crystal Lakes and off Pearl Beaver Road to Deadman Lookout are still underwater mandatory evacuation orders.
