Selena Gomez talks about the lasting consequences of her health problems… and confirms for the first time that she cannot bear her ‘own children’.
The actress made the vulnerable confession in a new cover story Vanity fairand admitted that she learned this hard truth a while ago.
She shared… “Unfortunately… I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s life at risk. That was something I had to grieve for a while.”
Selena has notably battled lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease, for the past decade, which forced her to undergo a kidney transplant in 2017. Due to these health problems, Selena found out that she would not be able to give birth. [she] had it in mind.”
She added… “I thought it would happen like it does for everyone.”
Still, after a while, it seems like Selena has come to terms with her reality… by admitting that she’s considering surrogacy or adoption for the future.
She continued… “It made me very grateful for the other outlets for people who want to be mothers. I’m one of those people. I’m excited about what that journey will look like, but it will be a little different.”
We’re sure her determination to still be a mother is reassuring news for her music producer boyfriend Benny Blanco …who recently had one interest in having children with the Disney Channel alum.
In May, Benny admitted on “The Howard Stern Show” that he thinks about having children with Selena “every day.”
He added… “That’s my next goal, to check the box.”
The pair have been dating since the summer of last year… so it wouldn’t be surprising if they were already making plans for the future!!!
